What if Thomas has changed?

Other than his dislike of Thomas, in what ways has Liam tried to control Hope. Can someone give examples?

There are none. Liam is a control freak for trying to keep the wolf from the door, and to keep his wife and baby safe from the wolf. I did like that Steffy reminded Liam today that he should go home for Beth's sake. It would have been better if she had said to him that he may not be able to forgive Hope, but he should remember, if he walks away, Hope will probably turn to Tom, and then Beth will have to deal with Tom in her life. That might have sent him flying back home. And, if it is just for Beth, then so be it. That kid should matter to at least one of her parents, and we know it won't be Hope right now.

Liam has been manipulating and controlling Hope for years, in exactly the way Ridge always has Brooke. He’s convinced her on more than one occasion she was the love of his life only to run to Steffy when things got tough. Look at how he’s acting now, ending his marriage over a kiss when Hope didn’t over him sleeping with Steffy. He usually does it more subtly convincing Hope she is somehow responsible for Lam’s constant waffling. When they were very young and engaged it was because Hope wanted to wait for marriage to live together that he used as an excuse to run to Steffy. So yes, he has always tried to control Hope when it was him who was weak. Hope has shown weakness and vulnerability towards Thomas, but she’s not afforded the same grace she’s given to him countless times.
