Hope must have dissociative identity disorder (Spoilers)

I am not a psychiatrist. I’ve only seen how it plays out in the movies. All I know is that Hope is acting like at least two people to me. Far be it for this show to portray DID correctly. My point is it’s easier for me to believe Hope is two different people than what I’m seeing on screen. I did not recognize Hope today. This goes beyond denial. There is a psychological element to this, I don’t know that it is. No one acts this way.

I agree it's a psychological issue, too. But, maybe more like a nervous breakdown or identity crisis. Something along those lines. Also, there's the very strong possibility that Thomas really has changed. Maybe Hope finds that she admires him now and that's playing with her head. Maybe it's something like..."I know I shouldn't admire him...so, why do I? What's wrong with me? I must be bad. I must be like my mother." Just spitballing here. ;-)

For years, Brooke and Liam have been against Thomas while Hope has skipped along singing his praises. Every time she's stood by Thomas, he's pretty much made her look like a fool. Must be so defeating and demoralizing to be hoodwinked by a man again and again and again. And worse, it must be so humiliating to realize that you've been putting your faith in a person who is mentally deranged. Liam and Brooke were right on the money. Hope was dead wrong. That has to take a serious toll on your psyche. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Hope has convinced herself that she has feelings for Thomas because she's been emotionally abused by him.
