I wouldn't mind if Steam comes back. They were great together until hurricanes Bill and Hope wreaked havoc. And Finn needs stories away from his waffling bossy wife. If she wasn't barking orders every day, he would have given his mother a chance a long time ago.

Steffy doesn't bark orders to him everyday. And she was 100% right about not giving Sheila an inch to worm her way into their lives.
His mother never deserved a chance. She never gave a damn about him until she saw he was going to marry a Forrester. Then he suddenly became an "in" to the Forrester family, an object to be used for her own selfish purposes.
