i think liam insecurities come from the fact he can't handle that hope has the bread winner of the family liam has always come off have wanting a 1950's life style where the wife stays at home and taking care of the kids while the husband is at work

It's probably more about her having something she is committed to and passionate about outside of him. Liam isn't passionate about Spencer. He never has been.
