The love between Thomas and Hope is palpable

I haven't posted in years. Finally a pair with chemistry who rekindled my interest for this show. These last weeks have been awesome. Their interactions today were too touching. They have completely won me over.


If Thomas and Hope did not have a half-brother in common, if Hope had not been raised as half-brother with Thomas and if Thomas had not tried to keep Beth from Hope and done all of the other creepy things, I could have got behind the couple. To me, it is just weird and comes too close to incest, even if it is not by blood. The show needs a larger cast. I don't see why The Young and the Restless can have a large cast, but The Bold and the Beautiful cannot since both shows are owned by the same family.


I don't get why this should be held against Hope, though. I may agree with this if RJ was born before Hope and Thomas. But he was born after. Hope was already a toddler when Bridge conceived RJ during their SA honeymoon. Neither Hope and Thomas are responsible for the mess Ridge and Brooke created after Hope's birth. Being raised under the same roof for a while isn't something they chose either. They were kids, Taylor was presumed dead and Ridge chose to move on with the other love of his life. Hope had no choice but to accept the living arrangements until Taylor came back. The circumstances decided for them. Brooke and Ridge also have a sibling in common... Rick. Brooke is Rick's mom and Rick used to call Ridge his brother. Rick could say my mother is marrying my brother. But this isn't held against Brooke when she chooses Ridge so it shouldn't be held against Hope if she wants to be with Thomas. I see many reasons why Hope shouldn't be with him but "incest" has never been one. I do agree that the cast should be larger. Unfortunately Bell doesn't have the budget because it took him many years to bring a new guy for Steffy and he still refuses to bring anyone new for Brooke or Taylor, so I doubt he is gonna bring new characters anytime soon. He is doing what he can with the current cast.


There is a certain ick factor to Brooke, Eric and Ridge. I didn't like Brooke marrying Eric after having a miscarriage with Ridge and the fact that Eric was Brooke's mom's ex-boyfriend. In my mind, that should have never happened with Eric. Eric should have never went after his son's ex-girlfriend especially while she was vulnerable after just losing Ridge. There was also an ick factor to Ridge, Taylor and Eric when Thomas and Steffy started calling Eric by his name instead of granddad. There was also an ick factor with Steffy and Rick, Rick and Phoebe and Steffy and Liam after Steffy had just had an affair with Bill. They could have brought Wyatt in without making him related to anyone on the show. At least there would have been new blood. The Bold and the Beautiful family trees must be palm trees because they don't have many branches.
