Thomas head must be spinning.He's tried work so hard to attempt to straighten himself out and now temptation is right there. He could have what he's wanted for years....the woman he has fantasized about could potentially be returning his feelings?

Thomas will never really redeemed for me but it seems like it's what the writers are trying to do here. A few months ago, in the exact same scene Thomas would have probably grabbed Hope and kissed her passionately, told her he's wanted this moment his entire life... and bedded her if she lets him. Today he is clearly tempted but he is not crossing the line.

This is also getting hard to give Hope credit for not physically cheating, after a scene line this one. Between the couch scene, the handholding moment and this, it's the 3rd time her lips are 1 inch away from his. Way too close to turn her head and avoid a kiss even if she wanted. The only reason she hasn't cheated yet is because Thomas isn't reducing that last inch.
