After watching the entire 15-minute clip (They are hilarious btw, I may need to start watching this show)

I don't think Deacon was in on it. He seems surprised that Hope is mentioning it at all, and if he were a part of the sting that would be common knowledge at this point. He realizes Sheila is going down and decides to help them to save himself. Not sure if they know about everything or just that they were having an affair, and based on this dialogue and Deacon's reaction in this scene, the truth will probably come out. Sheila has no reason to keep quiet now; that alone could expose him. But Hope will forgive him. She will be crushed. He spent so much time lying to her, but no one was hurt, and he is her dad.

This makes sense to me and is better than a total rewrite that he was part of the sting because while there were always questions about Bill, there were very few about Deacon.

The big sting…..let’s sex shelia a lot get a scoop….yuck……I am surprised ridge didn’t get a turn ..just deacon and bill..it’s too yucky for me these men sexing shelia…..if Hope never finds out deacon romanced and hide shelia they would be nuts not letting Hope know daddy hide her …but everyone protects poor little Hope …
