Today while browsing old episodes of the show, I happened upon an old episode dealing with the Belief formula. This particular episode dealt with Brooke confronting Stephanie, Eric and Ridge regarding their attempt to trick Brooke out of her right to the formula she created. Brooke was on fire and really laid into all three of them, but especially Ridge.

Where did that firebrand go? At what point did Brooke become a doormat?

I remember this...the Forrester family decided to trick Brooke out of her rights to the Belief formula and they sent Ridge to her with papers to sign...he should make Brooke think that he might return to her (I think he was with Taylor at the time) and while she got all starry eyed give her the papers to sign them.
Brooke actually signed them without much looking and Ridge was celebrated by the Forresters...then Connor, Brooke´s lawyer and friend, found out Ridge took the (not signed) copy and left the signed papers at Brooke´s ...this cost Forrester a lot in the end, I think even shares or a share of the profits.
Brooke was strong then and told them all off, especially Ridge.
