I agree, this was the staunchest I have heard Hope reply to her mother and not seeing both eye to eye.
And clearly she is not going to take it back and not support Thomas.

So it might be time for little Hope to move off the lawn and into her own place and this closeness of popping in and out of the home would not be quite the problem.
