It doesn’t take long to get to know soap characters, in a week you could be caught up on all the GH characters.

But the show is saying that Brooke is bad and everyone who hates her is good, that’s their narrative so it doesn’t matter if we don’t like how Tridge and family are being written, Bell is telling us that they are in the right.

I think it matters very much whether we like it or not. Bell can say anything he wants. Eventually he will have to pay attention to the ratings.

I can't remember who it was, but someone on this board very rightly said they have pushed Brooke so far to the bottom that now she has nowhere to go but up. And I wasn't watching during the Deacon affair but I can't imagine that this is worse than that? I would imagine that would be the height of trashing the Brooke character, to the point that not just the characters, but even the viewers still bring it up, decades later. I think for the actress if there was a time to leave, that would have been it. Heck, Taylor killing Darla and almost killing Bill and indirectly being responsible for her own daughters death and violating her Hippocratic Oath isn't maligned as much as Brooke sleeping with her SIL is. To this day I have never understood why, but there it is.

And if they keep trashing Brooke, of course the show will keep bleeding viewers until BB gets it through his thick head that Brookes fanbase is way bigger than the wannabes and remembers the shows history very well.

Having said that though, we really don't know how KKL feels about the storyline. She may be having the time of her life finally playing something else other than the sex siren. I personally am enjoying this side of Brooke though I do wish she would give some pushback and not be such a doormat for Ridge. Maybe she knows something we don't know. We just have to wait and see. For now I just read the recaps. I've done that before when I've lost interest and will probably do it again in the future. If it gets too bad I will just stop reading as well.

You're right, of course. KKL knows how the SL turns out, we can only guess. I don't think she'd walk away from a job she's had for nearly 36 years, plus she's the center of the show and BB adores her.
