Hope always had a soft spot for Tom.

Her character would be way more interesting and likable if she was torn. She doesn't have to turn into a waffler and go back and forth, but I'd love to hear her admit she has feelings for Thomas and really fall for him. Not necesseraly be with him, but at least contemplate it. This would make this "triangle" (if we can call it a triangle) a lot more intriguing. It doesn't even have to be love, it could just be physical or sexual. But the way she is written since 2010, she never had any feelings for him. Not even when she married him. She is just naive, brainless and blind and that makes her an unlikable character. Even when he commits the worst atrocities, she is always the first one to forgive him and defend him and believe he has changed, even when it's clear he has not. Every time Liam or Brooke try to warn her about Thomas, she looks at them like they're idiots. She is mad at Thomas for 5 minutes and then the next time they've a scene, they're hanging out with Douglas like nothing happened. She is his #1 supporter but doesn't feel one bit attracted to him. Makes no sense.

I agree, a little soft spot for him would be different and everything you just mentioned makes sense especially when she's first to forgive him but not be attracted to him. Thope has the potential to be a power couple if written well. I would hope one day they'd get a real chance but it seems unlikely.
