This is hard to watch

I have been thinking about this...what could be the reason for this totaly wrong and historically incorrect writing of the show, which started some time ago but especially since Taylor joined the show?
Is ist that the writers really have no idea of the show´s past and are not aware of the nonsense they write?
Do the writers themselves believe the character of Taylor was always a saint while the character of Brooke always cheated on Ridge?
Or do they actually know that what they are writing is historically incorrect but they do have a (to us) hidden plan, making viewers hate Steffy and Taylor more than ever?
I mean, I see even Steffy likers not liking the hateful way she is written at the moment and Taylor likers not being happy with the Teenie-Taylor they got......:neutral

I don't think anyone has a hidden agenda to make viewers hate Steffy and Taylor. Bell knows they have a large fanbase who don't want to see them as villains or liars.
I'm sure it's the former. Some of the scriptwriters don't remember or even don't really know the show's history. When they are supposed to write a scene where Steffy brings up Brooke's past to make a point that she's bad for her father, what they actually remember is that Brooke was with all the Forrester men and needed a paternity test to determine if Ridge or Eric was Bridget's father, so they simply assume that Brooke must have cheated on Ridge with his father, not the other way round. And they don't bother verifying if their memory is correct because they probably don't believe that there are viewers with a much better memory who still remember all those details, even about something that happened more than 30 years ago. And the actors who have joined the show much later know even less about the past, so they believe that those lies are facts, just like newer viewers do.

I think a lot of those blatant rewrites have to do with the fact that the show doesn't seem to have a storyline consultant anymore like they used to until 2019. The writers in that position always knew the show's history very well, and I suppose they also revised the scripts before they were handed to the actors, making sure that the dialogue was doing the show's history justice, because I don't remember such an amount of inaccurate historical references in the past.
