What would happen with Beth then? Hope leave her with Liam or take her from Liam? If Hope did that, she would really be out of character.

That's the conflict of the SL, isn't it? That's the drama. As far as out of character, they all do stuff out of character all day long -- if it would indeed be handled in an out of character way. That is up to the writers how they'd tell that story and how to sell that story if they did it.
