Because the biggest threat ever to Bridge was Bricky. He came out of the blue. Unfortunately he sexed up Brooke while she was hysterical about Ridges death so they ruined him as a replacement. Nick went downhill after that. So I hope show tries again. Brooke needs a new lover that will keep us guessing. It’s not that he needs to be perfect but this man can’t compromise Brooke. He’s got to win her out right. If Brooke goes backwards to any former lover, there’s no question she’ll end up with Ridge again. Even if Bridge is still Bell’s long term plan, give the audience a hot new lover that keeps us guessing.

Nick appeared on the show and fell in love with Brooke 19 years ago in 2003, when Bridge weren't even half as cemented as a supercouple as they are now. The show was only 16 years old and Tridge had actually been married longer than Bridge. At that point in time, when Brooke was barely 40, it was still believable that a new guy could be real competition for Ridge in her heart and might even become the new love of her life.
But now in her 60s, after Ridge has been her destiny for 35 years, after they survived manipulations by 3 different generations of the Douglas/Hamilton/Marone family, after they got married 7 times and always found their way back to each other no matter what, there's no way a new man for Brooke could ever keep me guessing. That ship has sailed long ago.
