Deacon does live above Il Giardino, but....

It's an outdoor restaurant. So what does that mean? He lives above the hot kitchen?

Or wait. IS it an outdoor restaurant? I could have sworn all this time that it is. Now, I have to wonder....

Well when he started living there it was basically a closet where they kept all the cleaning products, mops and brooms, now it's furnished and like a small studio apartment

That's because he was living in a janitorial closet inside of Il Giardino. Then I guess they moved him upstairs. I didn't think it was upstairs because I thought it was an open-air restaurant. But today, the parole officer asked if he still worked downstairs. I can't imagine living above a restaurant. That place must smell like garlic all day.

I think it's an indoor restaurant with a large patio for outdoor seating.

Strangely, Deacon's studio apartment is about as large inside as Steffy's tiny cliff house.
