Hope literally saved him from an abusive, unstable father, welcomed him in her home with open arms and mothered him for several YEARS while Thomas was too busy collecting crimes after crimes after crimes. But she doesn't care about him NOW just because she still has concerns about Thomas' stability and his influence on the child? Doesn't make sense. And don't forget, Hope and Brooke don't even know about Thomas' association with Sheila and all his dirty little schemes to keep Ridge from Brooke. If they knew he conspired with Sheila and helped Steffy invade Brooke's privacy, they would have even more reasons to want to protect Douglas. Fact is, Thomas is still emotionally fragile and a master manipulator. He doesn't even have his own home, he isn't ready to live with his son full time.
