There was more than just frustration with Brooke behind that kiss. You can kiss someone out of anger but it's not normally that deep, that long, or that passionate.

Actually it's the other way round. When you're mad at the one you love because you think they've betrayed you, then all that pent-up anger and frustration can make you kiss someone else with much more passion that you usually would.
It was pretty much the same with Ridge and Taylor's most passionate love scene ever in 1992, which was a result of Ridge being frustrated after Brooke threw him out of her hospital room when she was recovering from a collapse.
