Perhaps a rewrite is in the works

I agree with this. If we are completely honest, there are really no "good" girls on this show with maybe the exception of Hope and she is flawed just like everyone else (just not as bad). All these women have betrayed family members, even Taylor with RIck.

I definitely never saw Taylor as a good girl... I have always seen her as lazy manipulative schemer and just as conniving as Quinn or Shelia. Taylor uses people to do her dirty work so she can keep her hands clean... Stephanie actually hated Taylor the moment she met her and I never thought that she "loved" Taylor as much as she claimed, but she saw an opportunity to get rid of Brooke. .I believe Stephanie actually accused her of being an opportunist.

The reason why I can support Brooke is because she is not malicious like Taylor. She has a good and forgiving heart. The worst thing she has ever done was Deacon, but at least she has never attempted to murder someone, mow someone down while drunk, use men out of revenge, or drive a young girl insane.. I can forgive Brooke, because she paid for her mistake, while Taylor just gets away with stuff and gets her crown polished. She is flawed and owns her mistakes. She wears her scarlet letter with grace. I wish Brooke would speak up for herself and let Taylor and Steffy hold one.

I have seen the argument that Brooke is forgiving. But IMO from what I have seen Brooke has often been very vindictive. We saw her swear revenge on Stephanie on Caroline's wedding day (after she blamed Stephanie for Ridge's choice). We saw her and Donna keep blaming Stephanie for their family "falling apart" (and telling Eric all about it) when leaving town was Beth's choice, and Stephanie singlehandedly turned Stephen from an absentee failure of a father to a successful man. The whole BeLieF storyline and Brooke's takeover of FC was entirely motivated by revenge. Stephanie pleaded with her and even offered to give her her own shares of FC if she would just let Eric keep control of the company, but Brooke refused. Brooke received a good counter offer that even Connor advised her to take, but she refused. And after she took over, she did everything she could to humiliate Stephanie (throwing her out of her office, rejecting Stephanie's idea for a fashion show simply because Stephanie didn't "go through the proper channels" and then accepting once Stephanie asked again "respectfully") and display her power (hiring Sheila as her liaison, standing over Ridge while he designed and making him design in her office, forcing new deadlines on Eric and Ridge causing Eric to suffer creative block).

The only thing I can think of that might show Brooke as being forgiving is that she and Stephanie became friends at the end. But that was a two way street based on mutual forgiveness.

Brooke and Ridge also tend to forgive each other, but that is also a two way street because they take turns needing the other's forgiveness.

Other than that, I am not sure when Brooke has displayed forgiveness. She is usually in a position to need other people's forgiveness more than she is in a position to forgive, because she has usually been the one causing others to be hurt.

As for Brooke's goodness, I really struggle to remember any selfless or good-hearted deeds that Brooke has done. Most of her actions are motivated by her own selfish desires. And she has always systematically disrespected other people's marriages.
