That's how it should go. Kelly isn't going to let her character play 2nd fiddle to a recast. She shouldn't. Bell Jr needs to let Brooke's fans have her be the captain of her destiny now.
I'd love it if her 2 boys returned to become her champions finally. I'd enjoy watching RJ tell his father and Taylor off. The Tridge brats wouldn't know what hit them lol.

I think RJ needs to be brought back too. He would shake this all up. And you are right, what could the Tridge brats say to him when HE says HE wants his parents together as a family, because he can remember how happy his mom and dad were, before Taylor crawled out of the grave and ruined their family. LOL. And, he is no step-brother to them, he is their brother through DNA. He is the blood link between the two families. Like it or not, the Tridgsters have a blood connection to Brooke, through RJ.
