Other soaps add a lot of new characters and don’t rewash a lot I wonder why this show keeps bringing back past characters instead of just adding new especialy love interests…..it is refreshing new storylines not old grudges dug up..new stuff would be great…..these Same family feuds are boreing …and sexing switchen is definitely yuck

I agree. This show brings on new characters like Luna and her mother. Throw in RJ and they are all boring FF worthy.

I love seeing characters from the past. The show should use a lot more of its history.

All of the other shows are one hour long so they have larger casts and everyone is still connected. There are just more families. There are very few randoms that last. Y&R is a perfect example everyone is a Chancellor , Abbott , Newman or Winters.
Most soaps are centered around families.

You know I agree 100%, but I think they think characters who are related or familiar are easier to write to, but I disagree. I think a brand new character is an open book. Look at Finn. He’s not the most exciting character and he still works. I think he’s the perfect example if they would just take a little bit more effort and bring in some fresh new faces they could really succeed. I think the Luna character was perfect, but they created the wrong story for her and RJ. They decided to lean into a sad story rather than make them exciting interesting young people.

Yes it’s true it can work. It’s just hard. Finn, Amber, Maya, and Daisy were good examples. Finn’s intro was actually very clever.
Luna was also a good possibility but they ruined it with this story. I don’t want to see 20 year olds acting like they are married. They need to be hanging out and having fun. And they need more young people to have a story at least two more.

There’s no sets for them to party on……
