Thanking Ridge for being a father figure

I thought that was an interesting conversation between Bridge about Hope and Deacon and Brooke thanking Ridge for being a father figure. All I could think was maybe as a kid but not as an adult. Also if Ridge is a father figure, are Steffy and Thomas sibling figures? That last line is a joke. I know better. I thought it was odd that came up today. Hope and Ridge haven’t seen close since the Ronn Moss days.

I FELT THE same way. MOST times it appears that Ridge can barely tolerate Hope.

I thought it was ridiculous for Brooke to be thanking Ridge for being a father figure to Hope given that he treated her like dirt many a times especially since he always sided with his princess brat even when she's wrong. I'll never forget how Ridge purposely had Hope do a toast to the newlywed Leffy knowing Hope was still in love with Liam and was heartbroken over it. Pure evil move on Ridge's part imo.

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.

The dialogue on this show defies all logic and what has actually played out. Many times I just roll my eyes at what some of the characters say-like Brooke to Ridge fathering Hope. Yes quite often through adulthood Ridge has acted as if he despises Hope and always, always takes Steffy's side regardless of the circumstances. He doesn't try to be neutral or ever stand up for Hope. It is well know my dislike of the portrayal of Ridge. When Hope was a child and into her teens RM's Ridge was indeed a father to her. But now, no way. As long as Hope doesn't get in Steffy's way, Ridge is ok with Hope.

Soaps of old actually had characters speaking dialogue that fit their character and the narrative. Now the dialogue fits the plot regardless of what has actually happened. It is frustrating.

That was her final straw and when she started calling him Ridge. It was not that he took Steffy's side over Hopes, it was that he forced her to relive the gondola horror. What he did to her was abuse forcing her to do that. It was beyond cruel. If he treated her like a daughter, he would have allowed her to stay home.

What relationship have Ridge ever had with Brooke's children, except that affair he had with Bridget.
