I think Sugar could work with someone else.
Considering that the guy that worked in the crematory was a shady guy from B&B's past I think he could be Sugars "partner".

Carl was not shady, he was just stupid and careless. He had a crush on Bridget and he kept tripping over his tongue when he was around her.

Yes, but he was often lying to be close to women like Bridget or Taylor. If Sugar offered him some romance I can see him being faithful to her and do what she asks him to. However I don't know if he would be so careless when he saw Sugars body going to be burned so in the end maybe Carl really has nothing to do with it.

I just reread this. The clip of someone cutting the power was old footage. It was from when she & Bill came to the cliffhouse. The power was not cut at Steffy's that night. If it was we didn't see it. And Carter mentioned the wind causing outages. It was just spliced together to make it more dramatic.

That's not a mystery, though. The scene in the preview came from back when Bill and Sheila showed up at the cliff house on a rainy night. And per Carter, Malibu had a blackout. No on cut power.
