Steffy needs to be humbled or embarrassed. I’ve only seen Steffy truly vulnerable and embarrassed one time and that’s when Ridge confronted her about the tricks she played on Hope when they first started working for Forrester. Steffy is justified in her contempt for Sheila and and I will be happy to see her face crack when she finds that Finn helped rescue Sheila but Sheila’s return doesn’t do anything to address Steffy’s arrogance.

You say it's not the best payback, but my question is payback for what specifically? Steffy is owed so much from so many different incidences! LOL Which one would Sheila's return be payback for?

That’s my point. Sheila’s return doesn’t do anything except give Leffy another chance. Steffy won’t lose one thing moving from Finn back to Liam in her mind.
