Will we ever move on from Sheila/Finn/Steffy's drama?

- In Italy, we are currently seeing the part when Sheila cut her toes and faked her death. Steffy catches her near the toilets of Il-Giardino and frantically tells Finn that Sheila is alive.
- In the USA I see that we are seeing more of the same,... with nearly 1 year and a half of interval. Once again, Sheila is presumed dead but she is not, and Steffy and Finn talk about Sheila 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

How boring is this? 1 year was enough, now we're entering the 4th consecutive year of this Sheila-Finn-Steffy drama. Sheila has terrorized so many characters over the decades, not just Steffy and Finn. Isn't it time to try a new angle for this trio? The Sheila from the 1990s and 2000s was way more entertaining. Her rivalries with Lauren, Maggie, Amber, Brooke, Stephanie and Quinn all worked better than Steffy. Either let Sheila move on from Steffy and Finn, or let Steffy and Finn themselves move on from each other. This couple was refreshing at the beginning, now they don't make much sense anymore. There is no romance since their entire world revolves Sheila. Finn should be able to build a relationship with his mother because deep down it's what he wants, no matter how many times he promises Steffy the opposite. Steffy should finally move on from Sheila and start a new chapter. If the writers still want to keep Steffy with Finn, then they need to give them other things to do. Thomas and Hope have more emotional diversified storylines in comparison. In less than 1 year together, they have already dealt with more complex issues and overcome more objections than Steffy and Finn in 3 years with Sheila. The repetitiveness of the drama (and the dialogs) between Sheila-Finn-Steffy is the most tiresome part of this serial.

As a Sinn fan, I completely agree that the storyline needs to explore more creative forms of angst beyond Sheila. In fact, the Sinn versus Sheila's arc should have concluded after she held Finn hostage and Sinn reunited in Monaco. This would have been the perfect opportunity to shift Sheila's obsession away from Finn and introduce a different obstacle for Sinn. No more Sheila, and definitely no more Liam. It's time for something new—perhaps bringing in an ex-girlfriend or fiancée of Finn's who wants him back to shake things up.

Finn should not be building any sort of relationship with Sheila; it would be a disservice to his character. Entertaining Sheila's presence would only make Finn seem foolish. He already has a great mother figure in Li; he doesn't need Sheila, who has caused him nothing but grief. Finn shouldn't bond with someone who shot him and his wife, left them to die without offering aid, held him hostage, attempted to kill his real mother Li (who risked her life and career to bring him back to life), and Sheila who faked her own death. Finn should be allowed to loathe Sheila consistently. The conflicted feelings may have worked before the shooting, but they don't make sense now.

It's worth noting that TN and KN do not have the same mother-child dynamic on screen as Tanner has with Naomi, in my opinion. The chemistry between Finn and Li as mother and son is much stronger. Tanner and Kimberlin excel in rivalrous and confrontational scenes, which is why the hostage storyline showcased some of Tanner's best performance moments.

Thomas and Hope are also currently broken up and have reached an impassé, so that is not a good comparison to Steffy and Finn. What have they "overcome"? Finn and Steffy continue to overcome things and stick by each other.

Agree with all you’ve said. :cool
