Sheila has no other relatives

I found the conversation between Deacon and Finn curious today. When Deacon asked Finn if Sheila had mentioned any other relatives, Finn said none you wouldn’t already know about. That would have been an opportunity to acknowledge Sheila has other kids.

What does that line even mean?
How would Finn even know? I am glad you mentioned this. I was so confused by that conversation because Deacon would know more than Finn, right? Are we pretending they had some secret relationship offscreen we don't know about? It was also weird when she had a recent message from Finn?

I don't think it was a message from Finn. It's been established that Finn had no contact with Sheila—even before her death; Finn told Hope that Sheila had been staying away from him, and he didn't want Steffy to provoke Sheila.

It was likely Sheila continuously messaging him due to her obsession with him. We know from the past that she texted Finn, and he responded with a heart emoji, which was the most he said. I don't think we're supposed to read too much into it since Deacon didn't mention Finn appearing in her recent conversations, and Finn isn't acting stressed about someone uncovering that he's been messaging Sheila (if that's the case), Finn didn't freak out when Deacon brought up looking at Sheila's recent conversation.

Finn has said repeatedly that she had not been contacting him. I am not saying they were secretly texting. I am speaking on the continuity of the show. Finn shouldn’t have been in her call log. Period. Are we to believe she has the same phone as before the shooting that has those old text messages on it? And no messages since then?
And Deacon asking him anything about her or her family makes zero sense. Deacon would know more. I just don’t like when things don’t make sense.

You're right. It is all very confusing, especially since they've made it clear that Sheila never reached out to him, and Finn never initiates contact with Sheila, so something is up. I'm just not sure if we're supposed to see more, since B&B aren't making a big deal out of Finn being in the call log.

And you're right about Deacon asking Finn all these questions, as if Finn and Sheila had a relationship to have these in-depth conversations about Sheila's past. It is the same way why it doesn't make sense to me how they had Finn react to Sheila's death in the most over the top matter, or that he started feeling a connection to her subsequent the crimes she committed against him. I really believe this entire story is just completely nonsensical as Finn didn't have the relationship with Sheila to warrant his behavior; they really need to move on past these Sinn/Sheacon story arcs.
