Hope said a lot of words but didn't really say much at all somehow. I don't think think there was a concrete reason actually stated. She talked about the whole "walking on the wild side" theory that's largely been implanted in her head. The only two things that she did say that were crystal clear is that she's sure about her feelings for Thomas and that she loves (present tense) Thomas.

My reaction is that the character didn’t want to be married to Liam either. In fact, I think she only married Liam because she was pregnant with Beth and that’s not something a good girl does. I think she’s wanted to have a good time and be single, even before she married Wyatt. I believe that Hope has loved a lot of men and I don’t mean that in a degrading way. I just think she would prefer to be single because I think she is looking for the love of her life. She talks about Brooke in a negative way but I think it’s not the whole story of at least Brooke. For all her flaws and feelings, Brooks constant is that Ridge is the great love of her life. I think as written, Hope doesn’t believe she’s met the great love of her life.
