I think JMW was studying old Susan Flannery tapes. These scenes remind me so much of the throwback to wanting to slap Stephanie in the face.

I know the soap industry loved it but Stephanie’s violent outbursts would hopefully be inappropriate in this day and time.

I don't think so because they keep having steffy do it. They think it's great. Li smushing Sheila's face, all the punching and slapping.
