Scott Clifton (Liam) comments on his storyline (General)

Where are these comments because I thought all he was talking about was one scene.

Sorry, that really doesn't help. I don't know what he means in the quote he just said that's in this thread. I don't understand why he's saying he's confirming something when I thought he was telling them that their assessment had been wrong.

Wait, is Liam literally talking to Steffy's photo? Scott Clifton is fantastic, and they're trying to play this as charming. But think about it: If that was Thomas talking to a picture of Hope, everyone would be freaking out.

“He later went on to say that his response was a way of confirming what I’d seen as “the disconnect between the apparent narrative and the actual behavior of the character.” It’ll be interesting to see if this time, we’re actually going to play that Liam is one majorly messed up dude. Especially after what happened next“

So here's what I think he meant; SSK speculated that they think Liam is being written to be charming and courting Steffy to come back to him but his behaviour is anything but charming. I think SC is agreeing with them that his behaviour was NOT charming, and he's also agreeing that TPTB may be trying to portray this as a love story. I think that's what the disconnect between the apparent narrative and the characters behaviour means.

Also, the words apparent narrative I think are important. I think that means the story isn't as simple as Liam now realizing Steffy was the love of his life all along and trying to get get back. That's the apparent narrative. The actual narrative is something else, but we don't know what that is yet. But once we find out what that is, Liam's behaviour will match that actual narrative much better.

Yep. What we saw was Liam starting to act unhinged, not charming, when he was talking to Steffy’s picture. I think we will see him go dark in one way or another. SC doesn’t want to give too much away at this point, and may not even know exactly where his character is headed.

That's not what he said though. He said he was confirming their assessment.

I don't think he's talking about what everybody else in this thread thinks he's talking about personally. I think he's talking about that one scene and how they said he was playing in his charming and he said he was being anything but charming in that one scene.

But I don't get what he's confirming. Because they were wrong that the scene was being played as charming.

I think you’ll get it if you read the SSK article by Richard Simms from November 17 that both matisse and I have mentioned in this thread.
