If he first chooses Brooke, then only chooses Taylor because Brooke called CPS, then Taylor is more than desperate. She needs psychiatric help herself. Taylor's epiphany is probably that she doesn't need Ridge, doesn't need to play second fiddle all the time to Brooke. But, she always will, of course. When Ridge finds out the truth, he'll go back to Brooke. (I don't think she'll call CPS, obviously.)
