So what did Sally have to apologize for? (General Discussion)

by TeamWivyQueric, Friday, March 15, 2019, 2:29PM (7 days ago)

I understand everyone feeling bad for Thomas. I understand saying "I'm sorry for your loss" and not feeling that Caroline deserved to die or that Douglas or Thomas deserve what they are going through.

I don't exactly understand what Sally felt she had to apologize to Thomas for though. I get the impression she felt she needed to apologize to him for some things she may have said after he moved her to New York and then dumped her for Caroline again. Why? Whatever has now happened to Caroline, Thomas was still a jerk for doing that.

When I read the spoiler I thought maybe they were going to reveal something we didn't know to make Thomas more sympathetic in that situation but that does not seem to be the case. He kind of shrugged and said "Yeah, sorry for that" referring to what he did to Sally. He did have a need to apologize, but I think Sally could have just said, "I'm very sorry for your loss and whatever happened I don't think anyone deserved this" without having to say she was sorry for letting him deservedly have it for how badly he handled their relationship.

Maybe she said something rude to Thomas when he was leaving.

Well maybe he deserved it. I'd have said some rude things to him. He clearly got mad at Caroline for lying to him and used Sally to get back at her, making Sally think he really loved her all along and causing Sally to pick up and move across the country only to be dumped shortly thereafter. Thomas' actions were certainly rude. And Sally can hardly have been expected to know that she should go easy on him because Caroline was going to die.

did they say Thomas dumped sally? maybe she was apologizing for dumping him.

They made it pretty clear when Sally returned to LA that Thomas had dumped her. When I saw the spoiler about her apologizing I wondered if they were going to rewrite that, but they didn't. Thomas still is supposed to have been the one to dump her to go back to Caroline. It sounded like Sally was apologizing for whatever she said to him when that happened.

Maybe that's it. This time he really went back to Caroline because she was sick and dying, and Sally didn't believe it (for good reasons). And said hurtful things to him or about Caroline. Now she realizes it wasn't a lie this time around. I was thinking maybe she cheated on him or was in the wrong, but apart from this, it doesn't seem to be the case

No he didn't. They clearly explained she died of a blood clot and that it was unexpected. He and Caroline were making plans for the future. They obviously had no idea she was about to die. So he did not dump Sally because Caroline was really dying. He dumped her the second time because he only reunited with her out of anger towards Caroline for lying and when his anger died down he realized he still wanted to be with Caroline and not Sally.

Thanks. I must have missed the blood clot part. I recall when he came back and took Sally to NY with him, he was really pissed at Caroline. He said they were done for good and he'd never go back to her. Then he went back to NY with Sally. Apparently he realized he loved Caroline more and dumped Sally. Caroline is a non-issue from now on. We'll see if he plans to reconquer Sally someday. For now it seems like they will revisit Thope.

If Sally has any respect for herself she won't be reconquerable where Thomas is concerned.

In real life, I would agree. But if Liam could take Steffy back Steffy after she slept with his dad, Katie could take Bill back after he got her sister pregnant, Deacon still begged Quinn after she annulled her marriage and pushed him off a cliff, I think Sally will take Thomas back in a heartbeat (if he wants her). They weren't married, it's not like he broke vows. He didn't cheat on her either. This is B&B and if he decides he wants her back, I doubt he will have to fight hard. The fact that she apologized to him and the way she was looking at him today, shows me that she has already forgiven him and still cares about him.

The women on B&B in particular are pathetic and have no self-respect. Occasionally the men as well but it's definitely lopsided against the female characters. Liam and Ridge can bounce back and forth at will (and have for years and even decades) and no one ever blames them, or at least not for long. Steffy, Hope, Taylor, Brooke - they are beyond saving at this point. Katie is a combination of a doormat and a box of rocks (meaning that's how dumb she is for even thinking about Bill again) and she has now also passed the point of no return.

I don't think unreasonable to hope that maybe occasionally one female might have some sense of self-worth and self-respect, even if it's an accident on Bell's part.

Douglas could be the main factor.

Douglas could be the main factor.

He could be, but Douglas should have been Thomas' main factor before he traveled all the way back to LA to reunite with Sally and uproot her for a temporary impulse.

Let's wait and see. It was his 1st ep, and only had a short interaction with Sally. Maybe there was more to their break up than Thomas just wanting to be with Caroline. What Sally said made it seem like she said or did things as well, that maybe it wasn't all Thomas' being a jerk. Maybe the relationship hit the skids and Thomas used wanting to be with Caroline as an excuse to end it with Sally. I thought it was strange when Sally told Wyatt that Thomas dumped her with nothing. She also said she wasn't listening to what Thomas said. She just took the plane ticket and left with some clothes and her gun. It was very weird.

I'm going to have to watch again, but it sounded to me like Thomas confirmed that what we were told was what happened when he said, "Yeah, sorry for that." And then for some reason Sally felt the need to apologize for what sounded like was whatever she said to him in the aftermath of being dumped.

Well, Sally could apologize for using him for $$ and for how she stole from his family and stalked and harassed Steffy for her own selfish reasons for starters. She could also apologize for going after Steffys husband only to secure another wallet to find her. It was Sally’s and Liam’s emotional affair that blew up the marriage. Sally is a nasty thief and a con woman. She uses people for $$.
I think she has a lot to apologize for.
