When Steffy described Hope to Thomas as some evil woman who doesn't love him and only used him like a toy Thomas himself said, the woman you are describing is not Hope, Hope is not like this.
He knew he was manipulated.

I disagree. Thomas feels (or felt, who knows what they’ll do with him if and when he actually comes back) differently about Hope than his sister does because they’ve had different experiences with her. Steffy dislikes and doesn’t trust her, and Thomas is lovestruck, and that’s fine. I believe that line you referenced from Thomas was inserted specifically to show he was not letting himself be unduly influenced by anything Steffy said. He heard Steffy out and then evaluated the situation for himself. He concluded Hope wasn’t giving him what he needed/wanted from the relationship and left.

Thomas is certainly capable of making his own life decisions.
