Question about Thomas and his brain tumor...

If Thomas had the brain tumor when the Beth drama occurred, could that have played a role in his actions? Not excusing what happened, but maybe the underlying medical issue was involved. He is absolutely responsible for all of his despicable actions since his brain surgery, but that's a whole other story.

Thomas knew about Beth for all of two weeks and did go to Steffy to tell her immediately, but he saw Steffy and Liam there playing with Kelly and Beth and he didn’t have the heart to tell Steffy and went into protective mode to spare Steffy.
That’s when he did the blackmail but Brooke did the same thing years ago and kept Thomas Paternity from Ridge along with Thorne for over a year so I’m not understanding her holier than tough attitude about Thomas,
Brooke even went as far as to move her wedding up an hour to keep Taylor from telling Ridge the truth belt her married her.
She’s always schemed and that’s why I can’t get on board with this whitewashed version of Brooke Logan who is the proverbial victim in every storyline!

And in the next episode, Thomas went to Hope and intended to tell her about Beth. But then Hope told him she was so grateful he was back and that he is there for her. She told him she agreed to date him and take things slowly, and wanted to see where it could go between them. That doesn't excuse his silence but when Hope revealed she wanted to try, it obviously changed everything for him.

He kept the secret that a presumed dead and kidnapped baby from the parents. There is no excuse.

No excuse, but the reasons were explained. First he saw Liam Steffy Kelly and Phoebe happy enjoying family time at the cliff house. Second he was madly in love with Hope and just when he was about to tell her about Beth, she tells him how happy she is he is back and tells him she wants to start a relationship with him. That's the moment when he decided to keep quiet.

Again, none of that matters. It was horrendous of Thomas to do that to someone he claimed to love. Thomas is selfish. He was only protecting his garbage self. He picked many moments to keep quiet. And each one was a distinct choice to allow Hope to believe her child was dead. There is no forgiveness for that.
