A smart person wouldn't have jumped in a moving car and physically attack the driver. That crazy chick blocked his view when she hopped on top of him, scratched and slapped him, blocked his access to the brake pedal with her leg, she punched the gas, and would not allow him to control the car.

Phoebe was NO victim and she sure wasn't Rick's victim. She was the perpetrator and she was 100% responsible for her own death. Phoebe played virginal games with Rick, dumped him while she ran around Europe with Constantine, she was too immature for Rick, and she expected him to stay home waiting for her to return.... She needed to take her anger out on her mother. Her mother betrayed her when she knew Phoebe's feelings and expectations.

I understand why she was hurt, she was young and had unrealistic expectations when it came to grown up relationships. She confided in her mother and her mother knew that she expected to get back with Rick and then found her mother rolling around in bed with Rick. She was forced to swallow her feelings and went along with what her mother wanted. Poor Phoebe couldn't take her anger out on her mother, because she was too afraid she would disappear from her life. So she put her misplaced anger out on Rick.
