I think the difference is that he wants Thomas to be a full time father and Brooke wants him to have visitation.

And Brooke wants the opposite - why is it so wrong of her to want the exact same for her child? She clearly hasn’t tried to stop Thomas spending time with Douglas in the past and she has a better reason than Ridge for wanting to keep things as they are - she thinks Thomas is not mentally healthy and it seems pretty likely she’s about to be proven right... again.
Both of them should just stay out of it but it’s not just Brooke in the wrong here.
