Steffy is Kelly’s biological mother whereas despite her filling the role in every other way, Hope is not Douglas’s biological mother. Not sure that’s pertinent to your scenario but it is a distinction to be considered not from a legal standpoint but from a factual one. Beyond that Douglas is much older than Beth therefore more capable of voicing his true desire to be with his father on a fuller basis. NuDouglas is a preteen guy v Beth, a toddler.

The new Doug does look older about ten …they should give him his choice..Hope should listen and do what kid wishes or kid will resent her as he grows up …..I can’t remember last time Liam was with Kelly ..

That's because he was trying to interfere in SINN's new relationship. Even Hope called him out on it.

I was referring to the shooting story.

I didn't see him criticized for being there for Kelly too much at that time. Isn't this thread about Kelly, and not Steffy?
