I thought they said it was her middle finger. Which is really a slap in the face to everyone.

No, he definitely said toe, but that would have been epic ;-) Shame no one thought of that! But knowing the amnesiac writers on this show they would probably forget Sheila didn't have a middle finger and show both her hands intact when she appears again. Safer to stick with a missing toe.
