If there's a custody case/Thomas's past (Spoilers)

If there is a custody case between Thomas and Lope over Douglas, I'm going to be super interested to see how the writers deal with Thomas's past. We know the show likes to ignore certain characters' crimes. Has it even been mentioned since Taylor returned that she shot Bill in the back and left him to die?

It's kind of surprising to me that Thomas would even challenge Hope for custody when you consider all the stuff that could come out about him in court. It makes me wonder if the show will just pretend they never happened.

If they have Thomas regain custody because Hope and Liam never bring up all the things Thomas did, including using Douglas as a pawn in his psychotic scheme to get Hope, that's going to be infuriating.

Liam is at home watching his kids grow up instead of in jail because Thomas told the truth. Thomas has taken care of both Douglas and Beth at times. He sometimes had all the kids when Steffy was in the hospital. How are Lope going to explain that he shouldn't have primary custody of Douglas when they have at times entrusted their daughter into his care?

That was cool Thomas helped Liam but it doesn't erase all the things he did to Douglas.

That's a fair point you raise about Thomas watching the kids sometimes. Things get dicey, though, when you go to court and the stakes are high. If it comes down to a judge's decision, how will Thomas justify taking Douglas away from Lope? If he tries to say they're not fit then I wouldn't blame Hope and Liam for exposing all the sick things Thomas did.

Why would he say they aren’t fit? Or have to prove they aren’t fit? He is Thomas’ biological and still legal parent who has not given up his parental rights. He has every right to want to become Douglas’ primary parent again. Just because he agreed to make Hope Douglas’ legal mother doesn’t mean that Thomas has to give up primary custody of his son to her forever. Yet it seems that he is expected to and that’s ridiculous.

Hope is also his legal parent. I believe the fight is going to be over where Douglas lives. Thomas will want him to live with him instead of Hope and Liam once Steffy and Taylor get in his ear.

Thomas goes to see Lope tomorrow. Taylor and Steffy don’t appear to be involved in that decision but I’m sure they will support him as they should. It isn’t as if Thomas has never thought about having his son live with him again.

Thomas should have thought about that before he signed him away.

Liam to Hope. Debate over.
