Actually, the one chasing Liam restlessly, and with Bill´s help, was Steffy...and the last time she hoped to finally get Liam was only two years ago, after Tequila Night...

You keep saying Hope chased after married Liam but it just didn't happen that way.

Hope: You know, steffy swore it was a terrible mistake, one regrettable night that would never happen again, and if for any reason I had any doubt, if i ever thought she would ever do that to you again, you know, maybe I'd be thinking differently, but... I believe she's sincere. Look, it's hard to believe that forgiveness could ever be an option, but if you could ever trust her again, trust steffy to honor and respect you and give you and your child the life you deserve -- I mean, don't you think that's worth a try?

As you can see, Hope did no such thing. She fully supported their marriage even after she learned Steffy had sex with Liam's father. That only changed when Liam was spiraling because he thought he shot Bill.
