Why is Remi's past be such a big deal ? (anticipation) (General)

I am already anticipating the other episodes this week (the Lope snoozefest isn't worth commenting). I have a feeling HELL will fall on Remi because of what he did to Electra last year.

Why should it be seen as a betrayal towards Deke, to begin with. I thought one of Bold's number #1 rules for couples is : the past is the past. Characters don't break up and don't judge each other over things they did before they got together. Are rules different for gay couples? I don't get the standards. Deke didn't even know Remi existed until very recently. Remi's actions had nothing to do with him or his family. His obsession with Electra was apparently a cover to hide his true feelings for men. I am sure there are plenty of secrets and entire portions of the past Deacon/Sheila, Bill/Katie, Steffy/Finn don't know about the person they are with. Steffy never heard about Finn and Poppy's affair until Luna. Finn doesn't know Steffy shot his mom, accidentally killed her cousin and almost killed her other cousin. Bill probably doesn't know half of Brooke's past scandals and the Logan sisters don't know about his past before LA. While Deke has a right to be shocked about Remi's fake pictures of Electra, whatever he's feeling isn't love if it's enough to end things!!

Furthermore everyone in Deke's life and everyone working at Forrester has a troubled past, Remi is far from the worst one. Deke's family would be very misguided and uncalled for to bully Remi because of his past. Most (including Deke's father and sister) are guilty of a lot worse than publishing doctored pictures online. Hope pushed someone into a vat, left him for drowned and refused to call 911 and turn herself in, I think that's a hell lot worse. Deacon falsified pics of Steffy/Liam's wedding for Quinn. And he did so much to cover Sheila after her shooting. He is quite a lousy boss for refusing Remi a job in his restaurant and will be a hell of a hypocrite if he has something to say about his son's partner!!!

Deke has asked him repeatedly what happened. Deke is already uncomfortable about Remy's friendship with Luna. Remy is very weak. So that will be an issue for Deke.

Oh I am ready for the hypocrisy coming out of the mouths. It's gonna be hilarious to observe reactions, specially Deacon's. Hope's, Ivy's and Carter's on some level (since they're on the promo). They have never even met Remy and don't know much about Electra and the deepfake. They've all done way worse or defended someone who did worse than Remy, but it won't stop them from judging him and telling Deke to dump him.

I knew hasn’t been that long. But I miss Cope already.
Lawrence and Annika had undeniable chemistry.
I wish they could’ve lasted a lot longer.

I’m disappointed that the writers ruined
this beautiful fresh couple.

IDK about "the past being the past." Deacon is sure holding Sheila's past against her. He brought some of her way past back up in one of those sessions.

What Remy did to Electra was pretty bad. Yes, a lot of other characters have done a lot of other things, but Deke is not trying to date any of them. It's hard to watch this show and hold certain characters to standards when others are not. I get that.
