Liam - Such a Jerk (General Discussion)

by TMKBRC, Tuesday, January 14, 2020, 11:14AM (14 days ago)

I have been watching the board criticize both Hope or Steffy. All had valid points. But in my opinion the real jerk and problem is Liam. He knows how much each woman loves him and he continues to hurt both because he can't stand to be alone. I think if he had his choice, it would be Hope but things keep happening and he always defaults to Steffy. I would really would love to see both women walk away from him, especially Steffy. It is totally unrealistic that Steffy would sit around and wait for Liam while watching him beg Hope for a future.

The biggests jerks in my opinion are the people conspiring together to sabotage his relationship, namely Steffy and Thomas. The biggest jerk is the woman who had to lie, scheme, manipulate, conspire, blackmail, bully, and destroy people's lives for years in order to get what she wants. Only to jump in the sack with his father, after years of lies and manipulations to land him. The biggest jerk is the person who hides a baby from his mother, runs a woman off the road, drug people, terrorize children to take a married grieving woman from her husband. Steffy and Thomas are both heartless jerks who hurt people intentionally and will go to any lenghts to get what they want, even if they know they are unwanted. So what? Liam spent the night with his daughter and watched a movie. He should have stopped the kiss sooner, I agree. If being weak and easily manipulated makes him a jerk, then I don't know how I'd call Steffy and Thomas. Devils? Satan?

why did he go and spend the night at steffy's??? he has wyatt and Bill's place to go to. Liam admitted he kissed steffy back. if he had pushed her away that is what Hope would have seen. Liam is the one to blame and thomas just exposed him

I like Liam and while I don't agree with all of his actions, it bothers me that he seems to be the only character that systematically gets caught and dumped, when he does something like this. No one else is held accountable for their cheating.

I would have loved to see Liam walking in on Hope and Thomas, one of the many times they kissed at the cabin, at Brooke's house or at Forrester. He should have walked in on Hope when she was half-naked in his bedroom, letting him rub her back. Wyatt spent the biggest part of the year waffling, kissing Flo when he was with Sally and kissing Sally when he was with Flo. But no one caught him. Now it's Ridge's turn with Shauna. He is married, kissing Shauna and no one (except Quinn) is aware. When Brooke and Bill kissed last year, Ridge was hardly upset and forgave her immediately. They all continue to walk around and come off smelling like a rose.

Liam kisses Hope once, Steffy walks in on them and he pays the hard price. This is the first time he kisses Steffy in 2 years, and Hope sees them and immediately dumps him. I think it's biased. Everyone should be caught and receive the same amount of punishment.

lol no, Liam ain't that saintly, even SC admitted it. Plus Liam is the one who made 2 woman pregnant in a year time and got himself in this mess. How do you explain that? This has been going on for a decade now, and its 10 years too long.

I have been watching boards and I feel Liam is as criticized as Steffy and Hope, if not more. In my own opinion, the biggest problem is Hope since AN'Hope took over the show. I am not rehashing the old history and stuff that happened 10 years ago, it's pointless. Liam and Steffy were married, expecting a baby and trying to work things out, despite Steffy's night with Bill. Hope disrespected this marriage and made him think Steffy wanted Bill. She knew Liam wanted to be with Steffy but decided to fight tooth and nails for him. Then Bill manipulated, bullied and blackmailed Steffy for months and this is the main reason why they broke up. Steffy removed herself from the triangle and was supportive of Hope and Liam. She stayed away for 2 long years. As for Liam, he has treated Hope like a Queen until today. He forgave her for all her secrets and transgressions with Thomas. He took her back after she dumped him and married Thomas. He put his life in danger to save Hope and Beth from Thomas. Hope is completely ungrateful and unappreciative. She sides with Thomas over Liam, she is dishonest and expects him to be perfect. He makes one mistake in 2 years and she will run to Thomas' arms again. Both Liam and Steffy were patient and supportive but she is self-destructing.

This old history (the gondola, Italy, etc...) happened a DECADE ago and is pretty much irrelevant regarding the current happenings between Hope, Liam, Steffy and Thomas. It's no longer brought up. Steffy left the country for 2 years, Hope for 3 years. Steffy's pregnancy, Bill's months of lies/manipulations/blackmail/bullying Steffy, Hope kissing a married Liam and telling him to divorce his pregnant wife happened hardly more than a year ago. It's directly impacting what's happening now. Liam flat out acknowleged that he and Steffy would still be married and raising Kelly together, if not for all these manipulations. Hope flat out said Bill's lies created her baby. I know it hurts.

I agree. For some reason, Liam thinks he can be friends with Steffy. No, son. You can't. Not with that big portrait in her living room!

He needs to do what's best for Steffy and create some boundaries, but he won't because he loves the attention and having a hollerback girl.

What's happening now shows me it's LIAM who deserves better.

Steffy is back to her old tactics. Lying, manipulating to get her. Liam has never needed to lie and manipulate to get a woman. Also, Liam never screwed an in-law the way Steffy slept with Bill and renewed her vows.

As for Hope, she always dumps Liam only to find out she was manipulated, and then she wants him back. Been playing this game for years with him. One day she runs to Oliver, one day it's Wyatt, now it's Thomas. The failure of Lope version 2019 is entirely in Hope, for me.

He should kick both to the curb and move on

I've never had much use for Liam and most of my opinion is based on how he's flipped between Hope and Steffy for years. At his core, I think Liam is a weak man, unable to function very long without a woman to prop him up and stroke his fragile ego. However, in order for his behaviour to work like that, both women have to allow it and both do. It's never been realistic IMO. Both Hope and Steffy enable Liam to be a horse's backside to both of them. Viewers who dislike Hope have been having a field day lately vilifying Hope for her idiotic and unrealistic behaviour. However, now we have Steffy sliding back into her old manipulative and controlling habits. And why? Because of her obsession for a man who' treats her and Hope as interchangeable. :neutral

Steffy kissed Liam at her brother's urging, yes. But Liam left Hope. I don't see one kiss as sliding into her manipulative habits. I also don't see Steffy as a controlling person at all. She has been doing her own thing for so long. She told Hope to not divorce Liam. She stood up for her at times. How exactly is that manipulative and controlling? I see Hope more in that aspect than Steffy.

Sorry, but that whole performance by Steffy was orchestrated, instigated by Thomas, but Steffy went along with it. She knew when Hope arrived because Thomas called her cell phone. She kissed Liam so that Hope would see it, knowing full well how much that would hurt Hope. We even saw Steffy glance over to where Hope stood. That's manipulation, whichever way you look at it. And IMO, Liam left the cabin, he didn't leave Hope. He didn't pack his bags and move out. He stormed out in a hissy fit because Hope didn't immediately agree to his ultimatums. I find the whole ugly mess very disappointing because Steffy has been pretty mature for awhile now and seemed to have moved on from her behaviour of the past. Then sadly, she allows her nasty, vindictive kid brother to get inside her head and pull her back to that dark side of herself again.

Steffy may have done one thing, but that in no way makes up for the months of manipulations that Hope and even Brooke instigated on Tom in order to gain custody of his son. Steffy is not the fall guy for everything wrong with Hope and Liam. Hope did it to herself.

I think if he had his choice, it would be Hope but things keep happening and he always defaults to Steffy. I would really would love to see both women walk away from him, especially Steffy. It is totally unrealistic that Steffy would sit around and wait for Liam while watching him beg Hope for a future.

Steffy just hastened the inevitable, regardless of her being in the wrong currently.

Which is? Liam dumping her for Hope again?

I don't buy that whole ball of wax about Tom being the victim of Hope and Brooke scheming to gain custody of Douglas. Thomas has proven countless times that he's always steps ahead of whatever Hope was doing. Nothing went down that he wasn't aware of. No one said Steffy was any sort of fall guy for what happened between Hope and Liam. Nor, however, is she some sort of innocent party, duped into co-operation with Thomas. She knew exactly what she was doing, which was my point. Steffy's decisions and behaviour can't be somehow justified by whatever Hope's decisions have been. Sadly, once again, Steffy used lies and manipulation to get what she wanted, instead of trusting the feelings between herself and Liam and their relationship.
