Brooke, Ridge and Taylor (General Discussion)

by Liz @, Sunday, November 10, 2019, 5:37PM (68 days ago)

I am hoping someone who remembers can remind those of us who are a bit foggy with the history when Ridge ever walked away from Taylor and the family and took up with Brooke. Thomas has been whining about how Brooke destroyed his family and how his dad would go back and forth between Brooke and Taylor. I just don't remember it that way. Seems to me that the only time since the birth of Thomas, Steffy and Phoebe that Ridge was with Brooke was when Taylor was thought to be dead. When Taylor returned, Ridge remarried her and stayed with her and the family until Ridge learned about Taylor's betrayal and divorced her. Even then, Brooke wasn't the least bit interested in reuniting with Ridge. It took years before Brooke and Ridge got together again. So, when did this back and forth happen and how exactly is Brooke responsible for destroying Thomas's family?

Tom and Steffy don't know about their mothers part in the break up... Later Tom and Steffy schemed and caused bridge to break up and Ridge ended up with Taylor, but not for long.

Brooke was the interloper for Tridge, I haven't forgotten all her lies and her manipulations to come between them, how she used her sexuality, she faked a pregnancy, hid a letter, she used her children to guilt trip him, she even put a bed in his office in order to seduce him, if Sheila didn't kill her they would never have broken up,

Everyone lied and manipulated, including Brooke. But, I'm more concerned with Thomas's portrayal of Ridge and Brooke. He says that Ridge went back and forth and that Brooke destroyed his family. That doesn't ring true. From what I remember, Taylor destroyed that when the truth about her having sex with James came to light.

Thomas was Brooke's number 1 supporter for a very long time so this sudden narrative is a joke

I'm with you. That's the way I remember Thomas and Brooke's relationship.

Once upon a time, Thomas believed himself to be in love with Brooke. Maybe the rejection has caused some resentment in him and that drives the false narrative.

And who was the interloper who used Rick to keep Brooke and Eric together long enough for her to sleaze her way into Ridge's orbit. She was warned by Caroline and Stephanie of what would happen and that Ridge belonged with Brooke. Since she did not heed that warning, too bad for her. No sympathy for her weak pathetic, mentally unbalanced self.

Yup. Ridge chose Taylor over Brooke everytime. Only when Taylor was presumed dead did Brooke have a chance. It changed after 2005, when they ruined Taylor and the logans got more favorable writing for them imo.

That is how I remembered it happening. Between the time that Ridge reunited with Taylor after Thomas' birth and Taylor faked death, Brooke left them alone. Taylor and Ridge had to deal with Morgan and Brooke moved on and out of their orbit. If Ridge had wanted to reunite with Taylor without any manipulations he could have but he still picked other women over Taylor. Heck he could have hooked up with Taylor while they were in Europe, but Ridge wasn't interested in Taylor.

You remember correctly which is why I get really annoyed when Thomas claims Ridge left the family for Brooke. He never did. By the way, Steffy whines about the very same thing and says Ridge leaving the family has caused her "abandonment issues". Either Bell is actually trying to rewrite history or the two characters just make stuff up to play the victim card. Either way, I don't like it.

The history of this love triangle is very long (25 years) and complex... There is not one official version... Every viewers will see it differently... Ridge left Brooke for Taylor many times and vice versa... Both Brooke and Taylor kept secrets from him, hooked up with other men and tried to take Ridge away from the other...

I can totally see why Steffy and Thomas resent Brooke... Taylor had her share of responsabilities and made mistakes of course, but Brooke is a big part of the reason why Tridge's family imploded... Brooke has also constantly encouraged her daughter to go after Liam, and encouraged her son to go after Caroline when she was with Thomas... They have good reasons to resent her...

I guess you forgot the part where Steffy went after Oliver, Hope’s boyfriend before that and Taylor encouraged it the same way she encouraged Steffy going after Liam when he was engaged to Hope.
Brooke wouldn’t need to encourage Hope to do anything if Steffy didn’t steal Hope’s man first.

And no, Ridge never left Taylor for Brooke. He left her because of her hypocrisy and her lies.
Brooke had nothing to do with that and she didn’t want Ridge then.
Taylor couldn’t accept it and put all the blame on Brooke. She couldn’t fathom losing Ridge that’s why she fell apart.

Steffy and Thomas like the play the victim just like their mother.
