Still 200K viewers down compared to last year. But compared to Y&R and its 650K viewers or GH and its 450K viewers, B&B is doing well in comparison. Also a gain of 250K viewers compared to the previous week, and first position in the demos. This was the week of Thomas and Hope's honeymoon, the week Douglas told Liam the truth and he told Hope on Friday 2. Hopefully it will keep going up for the week of the reveal.

I read this is the first time in the show's history that the show was first in the 25 - 54 demo for soaps, game shows, and talk shows.

that is not the demo the advertisers go by . they go by the Women 18-49 Rating which is the all time low for 14 straight weeks. Put a fork in it. Lope is done and will be back burned for sure

Actually women 25-54 is the major demo for advertising even outside of soaps. But, I’m sure AN and SC could use a break. Especially AN ...poor girl is outta tears by now I’m sure.

Yes, I'm sure they'll get a rest now. Fine with me if they don't have any drama for a while. Let them be blissfully happy with their baby. They'll be back front and center soon.
I just hope we don't get another snoozer of a story like we did after the last big Lope story last summer. The custody fight story went on and on and I was bored to tears.

I know the custody thing was terrible. They have to do better than that! It really should be to do with Fashion because that’s been sorely lacking. And, I think most if not all miss that aspect of the show. They’ll have to do something with Bill and Katie soon too I’d imagine since they’re engaged.

You think the custody story went on and on? It was nothing compared to this storyline right now.
But anyway, I absolutely enjoyed having all the other characters finally on screen, loved Pam/Donna/Quinn, the custody story and even the interns. There's nothing more depressing than having the same characters saying the same lines in every episode, so I hope this baby story wraps up soon and everyone else will finally, FINALLY get a spotlight.

I hope it does too. If those of us who love Lope are saying we’re good with something new, it’s long past time.
I want to see some fashion. And, yes back to action at FC with Pam and Eric, Quinn. We need Bill and Katie. I hope after the next couple weeks Thomas is stopped with his menacing and on to whatever redemption they obviously have planned for him and then we move on.
That’s not to say we don’t want our Lope back again soon though.

If Liam and Hope and all these recent characters must come back from the hopefully forthcoming backburner status, they should co-exist with everyone instead of hogging up all of the airtime.

I agree with that. There should always be room for at the very least a secondary story.

I'm not sure that will happen. These ratings numbers may convince Bell to stay with the core characters in prominence.
We'll see what happens when the ratings for the new story that Bell promised are in. The one that's supposed to feature Brooke, Ridge, Eric, and Quinn. If they're not sustained we may be right back to the triangle.

What I don't understand is why it has to be either the triangle or the other characters? They could so easily cater to the fans of triangle and the fans of the other characters at the same time! This is so frustrating.

Yes, this story went on much longer. But I was never bored with it. The custody case story had no appeal to me whatsoever. But I know everyone is different.

That's how bad YR is. The daily numbers are still not very good. Wasn't Friday the rooftop scene? It was the worst day of the week.B&B

that is not the demo the advertisers go by . they go by the Women 18-49 Rating which is the all time low for 14 straight weeks. Put a fork in it. Lope is done and will be back burned for sure
Um, if you go to the ratings' link, it showed the key demo women 18-49 as #1 beating Y&R for the first time.![]()

So, when the ratings are down it's Hope's fault but when they're up Thomas gets the credit?

Not for me. It was mostly AN and Douglas, the babies and SC/KKL at times.
KKL really delivered for me when she was going after Flo and Zoe.
The scene where she describes what it was like watching Hope in that grief. I cry with that.
I could deal better with Thomas being a whole separate story, but it was a lot on top of an already tough storyline. MA is just that good in his role.

How about the fact that more People tuned in to see if thope would sleep together on their honeymoon than People tuned in to see the actual reveal? How about the fact that the soap usually leading the numbers lost more than half a million viewers?
Soaps we're a dying genre 5 years ago too, but the past few years 3 million was a slow week, not a record

The ratings that are out now only go up to that Friday where Hope and Liam were on the roof top, I believe. That was just the beginning of the reveal. Plus a lot of viewers were locked out due to the Dish contract thing.
But anyway, why hope for bad ratings?

Nothing to gloat about reaching an historic milestone.
Not when it only happens because the others soaps happen to suck more that week. The're still way down compared to last year and the years before. The numbers don't lie.
The show outscored all of daytime television in the 25-54 demo including the other soaps, game shows, and talk shows. There just isn't any way to spin this into a negative.
How about the fact that more People tuned in to see if thope would sleep together on their honeymoon than People tuned in to see the actual reveal? How about the fact that the soap usually leading the numbers lost more than half a million viewers?Soaps we're a dying genre 5 years ago too, but the past few years 3 million was a slow week, not a record
The ratings that are out now only go up to that Friday where Hope and Liam were on the roof top, I believe. That was just the beginning of the reveal. Plus a lot of viewers were locked out due to the Dish contract thing. But anyway, why hope for bad ratings?
Where did i blame hope?
Where did I say you did?
Must have misread. Sorry!I don't hope for bad numbers, i just look at the numbers and draw my conclusion. Not my fault they're bad.
All soaps are doing badly. Doesnt change the fact that the story with Hope, Liam and Beth broke records. I will stand by what is being shared by CBS. Bold broke HISTORY

that is not the demo the advertisers go by . they go by the Women 18-49 Rating which is the all time low for 14 straight weeks. Put a fork in it. Lope is done and will be back burned for sure
Um, if you go to the ratings' link, it showed the key demo women 18-49 as #1 beating Y&R for the first time.
![]()
Women 18-49 Viewers
1. B&B 327,000 (+28,000/-46,000) <——— First time #1
2. Y&R 315,000 (+5,000/-125,000)Lope is far from done. They achieved something boring Leffy could never do..beating Y&R in the key demo.
While still having sucky daily numbers
Anyway, they're still down compared to last year. Nothing to gloat about imo. Sounds like they got lucky tbh.

CBS offered congratulations to the show. And yesterday, Angelica Rosas McDaniel, who is head of CBS daytime tweeted out this...
Congratulations @BandB_CBS
on this record-setting achievement and thanks to the fans for your support!
These ratings are good news.

Not lucky. Soaps are a dying genre, but Hope/Liam/Beth s/l made daytime history! That's something to gloat about IMO.

Nope, it would be amazing IF the numbers for b&b were better this year compared to last year of the years before but they're not. They're worse.

Like I said already it's a dying genre..but that's beside the point. There are multiple articles said B&B for the first time in 32 year history is in #1 ratings spot in ALL of daytime programming..not just soaps. This Beth s/l made history.

I don't know how to read these ratings. But based on the few comments I see under the link you posted, it looks very positive. Apparently B&B tops Y&R for the first time ever in the most important demo.

Yes, it's very good news. The next week should be even higher, I imagine.
