Help me understand Steffy (General Discussion)

You know I’m not a fan of this character, but I’m really trying to figure out what the writers are saying. It makes me cringe to watch her listen to Liam plead with Hope. Is that really OK for a contemporary, beautiful, rich business woman? Why does the show write Steffy as if she’s Liam second choice after Hope throws him away? I stopped rooting for Lope after Italian fiasco. Never rooted for Steam. Now, I hate all the couplings, but what I dislike more is watching a woman so desperate for a man. Why are they painting Steffy as so desperate?

Probably for the same reason they had Brooke and Taylor fight over Ridge for years despite better men coming along or them being career women and mothers. They embarrassed themselves and let Ridge humiliate them for years jumping between them or dumping them to be with the other before he finally chose one and stuck with her. Even now he still isn’t faithful. Still kissing on other women while claiming he has the one he wants at home. I thought we were done with that type writing for women in today’s society but it’s clear there is no way there are women writers on this show. The best thing they did was write Steffy walking away from Liam and building her line around women empowerment but they were never serious about sustaining it. These writers wouldn’t know women empowerment if it slapped them in the face.

Bill to Steffy: You're a grand prize. You're a queen. The total package. Brains, beauty, warmth, heart. I've always known that about you. Don't you ever doubt how extraordinary you are.
