Is Steffy being rewritten purposely to represent... (General Discussion)

Is keeping Steffy as a strong, independent single mother who is also career successful as part of the MeToo Movement? It shows that women can rear a family, be career success and doen't need to rely on a man. Go Steffy!

The Me Too movement is about sexual abuse. But I am very interested in seeing what Steffy does if/when Hope and Liam break up. The way she was written right before she left for Paris, I don't see her wanting Liam back. If she does, it would be a step back from the woman that gave those speeches last summer. I think she's actually going to support Hope and Liam. I think she'll do this by telling her crazy brother to back off.

How is Steffy supposed to support Hope and Liam they are not even together and if Hope herself if treating him like crap? If she shows Hope the same support Hope showed her when Liam was living at the hotel, it won't end well for Hope! I think Steffy will support them IF they are together! If Hope leaves him and he doesn't want to fight for his marriage anymore, Steffy has no reason to stay away from Liam! As long as she doesn't kiss him and tell him to divorce his wife like Hope did last summer, she will he better!

Huh? Hope and Liam are together. She isn't treating him like crap. Far from it.

Spoilers state that their marriage crumbles so they are heading for splitsvil.

Imo hope is acting kind of selfish... It's all about her and Liam isn't getting a second thought. Like he didn't lose his daughter and cousin. Her actions may seem altruistic / selfless but actually come from a very selfish place. If hope stopped her pitty party she might realise that.

I will believe that when the writers write her as selfish, and they are not in any way. Shes being stupid, but not selfish

The writers already displayed her selfish behaviour on many occasions.

- Making hftf about her wedding even tough Liam didn't want that

- publicly anouncing her celebacy untill marriage without talking to Liam

- Constantly wanting everything to be perfect with no regard for reality / liam's view

- Demanding steams annulment on multiple occasions ,even tough steffy and Liam were fine with divorce, because hope wanted to get married Faster

- trying to ruin livy because she was jealous Liam moved on despite Being married and pregnant with Wyatt

- changing her mind the minute something isn't perfect are doesn't go as planned

- Demanding redo's after she changes her mind again with no regard for others' feelings / situation

Not saying hope is the only selfish character, just saying she has done plenty selfish things

Isn't it strange that so many other characters say how UNSELFISH Hope is if she's supposedly written as a selfish character?

She is lying and leaving her grieving husband when he needs her the most! No matter how you slice it, it is very insensitive!

That's how you see it? Okay, then. But that goes against what's in the dialogue and even what Annika Noelle has said. Check out my sig line.

I'm pretty sure Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin thought the same when they were trying to get their kids into USC on the sly. Doesn't every parent want what is best for the kids? I realize my example is a bit over the top, but the ends don't justify the means.

And it landed her in jail, and ruined college for the kids involved

Only because they got caught! :lol

I don't think Hope is deliberately being selfish. I don't know what she is being. But dumping her husband who did nothing wrong isn't nice or praiseworthy - even if it is "for the babies". I'd say misguided or thoughtless is appropriate. Again, the ends don't justify the means.

But, when Steffy did it over her grief, she was called a heroine. I dont see the difference

When? Back when she miscarried?
