Why am I not even surprised? The show has always pretended Hope and Wyatt never had a relationship. Let alone a marriage and a baby. Annika barely interacted with Darin and when they did, the dialogs were all about Liam's divided heart. Absolutely zero crumbs of their history. Hope didn't cheat on Liam with Wyatt and didn't cheat on Wyatt with Liam. Hope didn't spend 2 whole years waffling between the brothers. Hope didn't marry Wyatt the same day she was supposed to marry Liam. Hope didn't break her vows after they lost their baby son. Thomas is the first guy who was loyal to Hope and only loved her. They did the same with Steffy and Wyatt. Finn is the first guy who never left her for another woman. Wyatt and Steffy never got married, she didn't cheat on him with Liam, she didn't waffle for 1 year, she wasn't sleeping with his brother while they were married. Steffy and Hope the poor innocent victims, right?
Why would I think it would be different with Ivy? Wyatt's name wasn't even brought up in her conversations with Liam and Steffy. Ivy didn't move on with Wyatt 5 minutes after Liam left her. Ivy didn't cheat on Wyatt with Thomas and Liam. Ivy never waffled. Ivy never threw herself at Liam while he was engaged to Steffy and while she was dating Wyatt. It's always been Liam for her, right? A decade in Australia didn't cure her. What makes her better than Steffy and Hope?
What was the purpose of Wyatt? This character competed against Liam for 5 years between 2013 and 2017. He went after all his leftlovers. He claimed they were all "the one" only to reveal later he never got over Flo. They all settled for him because things didn't work out with Liam. They all loved him and couldn't get enough of him at some point. They all dropped him for Liam. Then he had 4 other romances with Nicole, Katie, Sally and Flo. 3 of them are gone. Flo disappeared overnight without a word. And the last one (Katie) dropped him like yesterday's garbage and later went back to his father. Why did Wyatt exist? To me it's like he never existed. He was Liam's ghost.

The same question could be asked about Nick, Thorne, Grant, Whip, Hector, James, Bill and Pierce. Eric survived but only because of Stephanie and because he was the second lead.
I’ve noticed this show has a formula:
From 1987-2011 it revolved around Ridge and two women competing for him.
He had rivals but they all eventually were cast aside.
In 2011 Liam took over as the lead.
We had a little break from him being between two women but they’re working their way back to that.
For me as someone not interested in Liam and his love life, I have chosen to stop watching again and I will just read spoilers.

Thank you! Sounds good to me. I won’t miss it while this contrived story is going on. I’ll keep checking to see if Finn wises up but I’m very unhappy that they threw him under the bus to “redeem” Liam (and possibly Sheila).

No one ever gets over liam
It's one of the reasons I find this character so disgusting. He really has nothing remarkable about him and there's nothing out of the ordinary in him, but yet every single other male, no matter how much better he is than Liam, is sacrificed at the altar of Liam. Wyatt was and Finn is on his way too. Just so that this weak, confused, selfish excuse of a man looks like the best option out there. And his so called good qualities are shoved ad nauseam down viewers throats. Repeatedly characters talk about how great he is, what a wonderful human being and how amazing. No one seems to remember his bad deeds, especially not the women. Wyatt was first brought on to give Liam some much needed karma. I was one of the viewers who legit thought Hott was going to be a real couple, only to find out Hope never got over Liam after all. Then when KM left, exactly the same triangle was repeated with Steffy and guess what? Steffy never got over Liam either. The one who lost in both these triangles other than Wyatt was Ivy, but what do you know, she never got over Liam either! So the way I see it, there is really no need to bring on another male. Eventually Steffy will dump Finn for being human, and go back to Liam, who left her crying and begging and pregnant on the floor, because of course, she never got over Liam after all! The way I see it, Finn's days are probably numbered too, because even if Hope does fall for him, after a few months/years we'll find out, and you guessed it, she never got over Liam

The difference is that Ridge is charismatic, talented and a millionaire in his own rights. Liam is none of those. It makes zero sense that women can't get over him. And with Brooke, whether men get over her or not, her history isn't forgotten. No one showers her with over the top praises. On the contrary, she is accused of things she never even did.

Yes, they certainly did! Steffy accused Brooke of cheating on Ridge with Eric and Thorne - NEVER HAPPENED. They had accused Brooke of sleeping with Thomas thanks to Stephanie and Thomas' nasty lie - NEVER HAPPENED. There are many other examples.

The biggest lie is that Brooke broke up Tridge... Nope never happened... Taylor broke up Bridge from the beginning when they were working there way back together. Taylor is the one who broke up the Bridge family. Then Taylors cheating came to light and Ridge dumped her. Ridge tried to run to Brooke, but it was too late... He could have reunited with Taylor, but he realised he did not want the woman, he wanted Brooke.... The only time Taylor was able to snag Ridge was because of the plots, schemes, and manipulations of Taylor, Stephanie, and the Tridge brats.
Another great lie was most recently when Taylor ran straight to Ridge and told him that Brooke was committing adultery with Deacon.

Yeah I’m really not sure where Taylor, Steffy and Thomas are getting the narrative that Brooke broke up Tridge.
Taylor was shot in 2002 while Tridge was married. Bridge reconnected. Taylor had been believed dead until 2005 when the Tridge children were grown up and Ridge was married to Brooke.
Stephanie faked a heart attack and Ridge chose Taylor.
But when he found out about the James incident and that they hid it from him, he left Taylor because he was mad not so much about the sex but how she hid it while judging Brooke.
I also got the feeling Ridge, while he still cared for Taylor, loved his family with Brooke. Had Stephanie not faked the heart attack I think he’d have chosen Brooke.
Ridge wanted Brooke back and by then she wanted Nick.
So this thing that Brooke broke up Tridge isn’t how it went down.

Look at Lope broke up, then Liam immediately waffled back to a married Steffy acting like Leffy has always been perfect and that Steffy has never cheated on him with his daddy, needed a paternity test and lied straight to his face that a paternity test is a routine test. Hilarious to me that he's acting like Leffy was never dysfunctional..heck, he's even acting like Leffy was some grand love story that it never was based on lies and schemes. The rewrites on this show is beyond ridiculous imo.

Actually, Liam did acknowledge that he and Steffy have hurt each other as much as they've loved each other. It was one of the first things he said to Ridge months ago when he realized he would jump at another chance with her. He said something along the lines of they knew what it was really hurt and what it was to really love with each other. He never once acted like their relationship was perfect, that's what he did with Hope which is why it was so easy for him to throw away. It was all an illusion because Hope has no idea who she even is as a whole grown adult with children. Liam realized what he had in Steffy and has been pretty vocal about wanting it back for the better part of a year now.

Ivy didn't cheat on Wyatt with Thomas and Liam. Ivy never waffled. Ivy never threw herself at Liam while he was engaged to Steffy and while she was dating Wyatt. It's always been Liam for her, right? A decade in Australia didn't cure her. What makes her better than Steffy and Hope?
What was the purpose of Wyatt? This character competed against Liam for 5 years between 2013 and 2017. He went after all his leftlovers. He claimed they were all "the one" only to reveal later he never got over Flo. They all settled for him because things didn't work out with Liam. They all loved him and couldn't get enough of him at some point. They all dropped him for Liam. Then he had 4 other romances with Nicole, Katie, Sally and Flo. 3 of them are gone. Flo disappeared overnight without a word. And the last one (Katie) dropped him like yesterday's garbage and later went back to his father. Why did Wyatt exist? To me it's like he never existed. He was Liam's ghost.
But that is how this plot driven show works. Look at Lope broke up, then Liam immediately waffled back to a married Steffy acting like Leffy has always been perfect and that Steffy has never cheated on him with his daddy, needed a paternity test and lied straight to his face that a paternity test is a routine test. Hilarious to me that he's acting like Leffy was never dysfunctional..heck, he's even acting like Leffy was some grand love story that it never was based on lies and schemes. The rewrites on this show is beyond ridiculous imo.
Actually, Liam did acknowledge that he and Steffy have hurt each other as much as they've loved each other. It was one of the first things he said to Ridge months ago when he realized he would jump at another chance with her. He said something along the lines of they knew what it was really hurt and what it was to really love with each other. He never once acted like their relationship was perfect, that's what he did with Hope which is why it was so easy for him to throw away. It was all an illusion because Hope has no idea who she even is as a whole grown adult with children. Liam realized what he had in Steffy and has been pretty vocal about wanting it back for the better part of a year now.
Yet, he never had issues dumping Steffy over and over again for Hope. Why even tell Steffy he would put Leffy in his "back pocket" like some afterthought if Leffy were the actual love story here? Nope. He may claim that Leffy hurt each other, but he sure overlooked the extent of that hurt..Steffy hurt him far worse than Hope by banging his father, got knocked up, even needed a paternity test, then when he caught her she still lied to his face that a paternity test is a routine test..Liam sure ain't verbalizing Steffy's much worse betrayal. He was just mad that he saw the stupid Thope kiss, so he does what he always does..runs to his 2nd option and said the same pretty, "loving" words to use Steffy for sex which was exactly what he did on that drunken ONS lol. Only difference this time is a married Steffy hasn't giving in to him (yet).

like you said in your post, they all just settled for wyatt when liam is the one they really wanted, so it's not so much that the history was erased, it's more like why bother when it's really liam they all wanted anyway

But I think they do have to erase history in order to fit whatever their current agenda/plot..otherwise, why would Ivy still want Liam who had no issues dumping her at her cousin’s funeral then went home and had grief sex with her other cousin..OR why would Liam still want a married Steffy who cheated on him with his daddy, got knocked up, needed a paternity test, lied to his face?
